Each of our instructors bring different aspects of this amazing industry to our students.
Darion graduated from high school as a licensed cosmetologist in 2014. This gave her the amazing opportunity to get right behind the chair! She worked for 5 years in the salon atmosphere. "I found where my heart was and fell even more in love with this profession." During this time she married the love of her life, a firefighter. While growing their life together, she took a break from the salon to follow another passion of hers: to work in the financial world. Later, when she became a mother to a beautiful daughter, she stayed home with her for the first year. She then decided to follow her heart, when an amazing opportunity opened up for her to become an instructor with us.
Ashley is a proud graduate of a high school cosmetology career center program in which she received her Cosmetology license in high school. After 5 years behind the chair and working as a product educator, she decided to fulfill the prophecy of her third-grade teacher and become a Cosmetology Instructor. At the end of her 16th year of practice, she was diagnosed with a rare disease that almost ended not only her career but her life. She decided on December 20th, 2016 that her story would not end, it would just change. A little over 3 years later she was introduced to the family at UCC and knew she had found the place that would understand her deficits and allow her to thrive and grow. "My goal in life is to show others that no matter what obstacles life puts in your way, you can still be anything you dream to be!"

I have been in the beauty industry for over 20 years. I am a licensed Cosmetologist, Makeup Artist, and owner of Bethany's Studio 1. In 2015 I decided to purchase the school to share my experience with aspiring students. My Biggest Accomplishment is being a mother to my three beautiful daughters.
Before venturing into the hair world, I worked as a Registered Nurse and a volunteer as a Parish Nurse. As an Entrepreneur, I've worked in direct & online retail sales. I have a large extended family that helps to fill my world with love. I am involved with several area ministries including Pickens County Shelter of Hope. In 2016, my involvement with the school opened the door for me to become part owner of a cosmetology association for continuing education classes, Upstate Hair Skin and Nails. My work as an RN with Dr. William Scott has led to a new career as a Laser Tech, Lasers by Lynn. While owning and operating our amazing cosmetology school, I still work part-time as an RN and Laser Tech, and volunteer as a Parish Nurse.
